A Year Long Celebration of Mathematics
This national celebration and campaign aims to reignite America’s appreciation for mathematics. By targeting a broad, nationwide audience, the initiative engages people to experience the beauty, relevance, and potential of math in profound ways. The Year of Math invites individuals of all backgrounds to explore the subject without fear of judgment or failure.
Program Offerings
The 2026 Year of Mathematics, facilitated by the Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences, has as a goal to bring the power and beauty of mathematics directly into local communities through accessible, high-impact programming. We invite public libraries, community centers, and local schools to take advantage of the opportunity to host any of the programs offered or to propose their own.

Pulitzer & Tony Award-winning PROOF is back on Broadway starring a “utterly captivating” Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle in a portrayal filled with “sparks of genius.”
To celebrate, PROOF teamed up with Social Goods on a limited-edition merchandise collection inspired by the story’s examination of identity, family, brilliance and belonging.
Featuring a playful take on the Pythagorean theorem, the collection supports the Year of Math to help bring math programming to schools, libraries and local communities.

Year of Math Congressional Resolution
The Congressional Resolution declaring 2026 as a Year of Math in the U.S. has now been introduced in the Senate by its co-sponsors, Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R,WV) and John Hickenlooper (D, CO), and in the House by its co-sponsors, Representatives Chrissy Houlahan (D, PA-6) and Jay Obernolte (R, CA-23). We deeply appreciate that this is a bipartisan effort in both chambers.
